Here are a few Business Travel safety tips from terminaltraveler.com. Please comment and add any tips you use.
- Dress down, no need to pack your most expensive jewelry as you will only stick out like a sore thumb especially when in an unfamiliar city or area.
- Copy the contents of your wallet before you go. Pack one copy in your luggage and leave one set with your secretary or office.
- Remove and leave those items from your wallet that you will not be using when you travel, such as membership cards, supermarket loyalty cards, etc.
- Use your in room safe. Before you leave your room put keys, passports, laptops in it. Use it every time you leave your room!
- If you wear glasses, or contacts be sure to bring an extra pair with you.
- Pill cases are convenient but if you travel with Prescription meds leave them in the original container they came in from the pharmacy.
- Carry American Express travelers’ checks.
- Most countries do not accept American Express cards. Sign up for a Visa Credit Card tied to an airline Frequent Flier program
- Place your name and address on each tag for each bag and inside each bag if possible
- Double check US Department of State’s website for Travel Visa and Warnings often, before you head to the airport for the country you are traveling to.
- Some countries may require vaccinations, double check before you go.
- Make sure your passport is valid for 6 months PAST your scheduled return date. You may be turned away once you land in your destination city
- Before you go, upgrade to a tri-band world phone.
- Add all of your emergency numbers, including doctors, attorneys, family, travel companies into you phone before you leave.
