Business Travel Tips

Here are a few Business Travel safety tips from terminaltraveler.com. Please comment and add any tips you use.

  1. Dress down, no need to pack your most expensive jewelry as you will only stick out like a sore thumb especially when in an unfamiliar city or area.
  2. Copy the contents of your wallet before you go. Pack one copy in your luggage and leave one set with your secretary or office.
  3. Remove and leave those items from your wallet that you will not be using when you travel, such as membership cards, supermarket loyalty cards, etc.
  4. Use your in room safe. Before you leave your room put keys, passports, laptops in it. Use it every time you leave your room!
  5. If you wear glasses, or contacts be sure to bring an extra pair with you.
  6. Pill cases are convenient but if you travel with Prescription meds leave them in the original container they came in from the pharmacy.
  7. Carry American Express travelers’ checks.
  8. Most countries do not accept American Express cards. Sign up for a Visa Credit Card tied to an airline Frequent Flier program
  9. Place your name and address on each tag for each bag and inside each bag if possible
  10. Double check US Department of State’s website for Travel Visa and Warnings often, before you head to the airport for the country you are traveling to.
  11. Some countries may require vaccinations, double check before you go.
  12. Make sure your passport is valid for 6 months PAST your scheduled return date. You may be turned away once you land in your destination city
  13. Before you go, upgrade to a tri-band world phone.
  14. Add all of your emergency numbers, including doctors, attorneys, family, travel companies into you phone before you leave.
