Continental Connection Flight 3407 from Newark to Buffalo, a Q400 turboprop built by the Canadian company Bombardier, and operated by Colgan Air crashed into a home in Clarence Center about 10:20 p.m. Thursday evening. All passengers on board died in the plane crash as well as one man inside the home in Clarence Center. Among the commuters were students returning home to Buffalo as well as Beverly Eckert, the widow of Sean Rooney, who died in the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks. Eckert was on her way to Buffalo in honor of what would have been her husband’s 58th birthday, the Buffalo news reported.
The crew members of Flight 3407 have been identified as pilot Capt. Marvin Renslow, First Officer Rebecca Shaw, and flight attendants Matilda Quintero and Donna Prisco. Another employee of the airline, Capt. Joseph Zuffoletto, was on the plane but off-duty at the time. Flight 3407 was heading toward the Buffalo Niagara International Airport when it crashed
